: Incredible! But true. An Amarnath Yatri (pilgrim) from Madhya Pradesh has covered nearly 3,200 kilometers on foot to reach the Holy Cave.
Carrying a religious flag and a 25-kg backpack, the Yatri, Yashwant, said he began his journey from Madhya Pradesh and has walked through holy cities including Ayodhya, Haridwar and Jyotirling temples.
In conversation with local news agency, Kashmir News Observer (KNO) at Badragund in Qazigund, Yashwant said, “I have been walking for the last four months, and now I am finally about to reach the holy cave. I will proceed through Baltal. My wish is to see my religion and my country progress.”
Asked why he chose to travel on foot despite modern conveniences, he said, “You can explore the world by car or horse, but you can’t truly understand people and cultures without walking among them.”
He expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality received along the route and said he faced no major issues during the journey. “I will pray for peace and development in the country once I reach the cave,” Yashwant said.
