: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday organized a Tiranga Rally at Srinagar’s iconic Lal Chowk to commemorate the success of Operation Sindoor – and decisive anti-terror offensive.
The rally commenced at Sher-e-Kashmir Park and culminated at Lal Chowk, a site deeply embedded in Kashmir’s political history and now increasingly symbolic of India’s assertive national stance post the abrogation of Article 370.
BJP leaders and party workers marched through the heart of Srinagar waving the Tricolour, chanting slogans in support of the Indian Army and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and denouncing Pakistan’s support for terrorism.
“This rally is not just a political event—it is a salute to our armed forces for striking deep into terror infrastructure and proving India’s unwavering resolve,” said a senior BJP leader during the rally. “We’re here to express the people’s pride and gratitude.”
Darakhshan Andrabi, BJP leader and chairperson of the J&K Waqf Board, called the rally a moment of national pride. “The Indian Army’s actions have made the entire nation proud. Lal Chowk today stands as a symbol of India’s unity and courage,” she said.
In recent years, Lal Chowk and the iconic Ghanta Ghar (Clock Tower)—once regarded as symbolic of separatist sentiment—have witnessed a transformation into hubs for pro-nationalist events and public displays of unity with the armed forces.
Adding to the patriotic wave, a day prior, the J&K unit of the Muslim Rashtriya Manch had also organized a Bharat Yatra at Lal Chowk to celebrate the success of Operation Sindoor and express solidarity with India’s soldiers.(STC)
