BJP wants Speaker not to allow unconstitutional resolution during Assembly budget session

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 27 (STC): Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) on Thursday said that they wouldn’t not allow any unconstitutional, undemocratic or anti-national resolution, question or any bill during the Assembly budget session starting March 03. In this regard, the party has demanded that the speaker shouldn’t permit any unconstitutional or anti- national activity during Budget session.
Senior BJP leader Sunil Kumar Sharma talking to media about the Budget session starting March 03 said, “During the all-party meet I urged the speaker that he shouldn’t allow any such activity and run the House impartially.”
It’s worth mentioning thst the Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather chaired an all-party meeting on Thursday morning to seek cooperation from political parties for smooth functioning of the house during the budget session.
According to the reports, the speaker has urged members to ensure that question hour is not disrupted which, he said, is important for holding the government accountable.
The speaker has been urged to give adequate time to members to raise public issues.
A local news agency quoting some members reports that there was agreement among all parties that there wouldn’t be disruptions and it would be ensured that executive is accountable to legislature.

Notably, the all-party meeting was attended by Sunil Sharma and Surjit Singh Salathia of the BJP, Mubarak Gul of NC, Ghulam Ahmad Mir of Congress, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami from the CPI-M), Waheed-ur-Rehman Para of PDP, and independent MLA Muzaffar Iqbal Khan. (STC)
