CM Omar Abdullah praises armed forces on Armed Forces Veterans’ Day event

“It is our duty to work for you and your families whenever there is a problem for you.”

Jammu, January 14 (STC): An event marking the celebration of ninth Armed Forces Veterans’ Day was organized today by the Army at Tanda Artillery Brigade in the Akhnoor sector near Jammu. The event was attended by the Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. The Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan was also present on the occasion.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in his address on the occasion praised the armed forces for safeguarding the country and assured them of his government’s complete support in mitigating their sufferings.
He said the government is committed to working for the welfare of the armed forces. “You have given your lives to the nation; you have taken care of this country. It is our duty to work for you and your families whenever there is a problem for you,” said Omar Abdullah in his speech.
The Chief Minister further stated: “It is because of you that we are excelling. I assure you that the government will work for you. Recruitment, financial schemes—our administration will support you in every way possible,” he added, outlining key initiatives aimed at addressing veterans’ needs.
“Your help is our duty, and we will do everything to fulfill it,” he promised.
Remarkably, the event featured moments of remembrance, celebration, and camaraderie as the sacrifices of the armed forces were honored. (STC)
