CM Omar hits at BJP; blames it for dividing J&K

SRINAGAR, JANUARY 25 (STC)
: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of initiating the move to bifurcate the erstwhile state.
He was responding to BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh’s statement that the party stands for a fully united Jammu and Kashmir, including Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
“It is good that he said this, but the idea was started by the BJP itself,” the Chief Minister told reporters.
“We have always wanted Jammu and Kashmir to remain one entity. It was the BJP that separated Ladakh, and we still wish for Ladakh to be reunited with Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
He further stated: “We have never wanted Jammu and Kashmir to be seen separately… It should never have been separated. We are not in favour of Jammu being separated from Kashmir. It is the BJP and some of their allies in Kashmir who promote such narratives.”
