SRINAGAR, MARCH 10 (STC): The Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah while responding to the obscene Gulmarg fashion show controversy, informed the members in the Legislative Assembly today that the event was held without government approval. He emphasized that the show, described as a private function, had not received the necessary permissions from the authorities.
The Chief Minister informed the House that the government has already ordered an inquiry.
Notably, the protests against the event rocked the Legislative Assembly and members were demanding discussion on the issue.
Meanwhile, following widespread public outrage, the video showcasing controversial Gulmarg fashion show has been deleted by Elle India from social media platforms.
The event was organized by the luxury brand ‘Shivan and Narresh’ to celebrate its 15th anniversary on March 7. It featured models in scant clothing and the serving of alcohol in the backdrop of the Gulmarg ski resort.
It’s worth mentioning that the event took place during the holy month of Ramadan, and sparked intense backlash, particularly from Kashmiris.
