Decision on school timing can be changed: Edu Minister Sakeena Itoo

SRINAGAR, JULY 08 (STC): Jammu and Kashmir Education Minister Sakeena Itoo on Tuesday said that the decision on school timing is not final and can be changed based on public feedback. The government is open to revising the newly announced school timing, she told reporters.
“Many people are calling to ask about the new school timings,” she said. “This is not a final decision. If we feel there’s a need to change it, we can do that,” she added.
The minister assured parents and students that their concerns will be addressed.
“Our aim is that children should study in the November session and complete their syllabus. That’s why we are trying to reduce unnecessary vacations and problems in the education system,” Itoo said.
Speaking on the academic schedule for the coming months, she said that Mid-July, August, and September will be focused on teaching whileas exams will be held in October,” she added.(STC)
