Director School Education Kashmir reaffirms commitment to quality education
Inaugurated a newly established Reception Centre and Mini Auditorium at Government Higher Secondary School (HSS) Chursoo, Awantipora.

SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 23 (STC): Director School Education Kashmir, Naseer Ahmad Wani, has emphasized that ground-level inspection and continuous monitoring remain essential for an effective and responsive education system. He reiterated the department’s commitment to upgrading facilities across schools to ensure a conducive learning atmosphere for every student.
He stated this at the inauguration of a newly established Reception Centre and Mini Auditorium at Government Higher Secondary School (HSS) Chursoo, Awantipora, during an ongoing Enrolment Drive.
On the occasion, the school released a student publication titled “All for Thy Name”, authored by student Adnan Gul, reflecting the institution’s focus on creativity and academic excellence.
The Director also facilitated the formal enrolment of nearly two dozen students and urged parents to remain active partners in their children’s education. Addressing students directly, he encouraged them to maintain “direct contact with the Director for any concern related to studies or school environment.”
Outstanding student achievers were felicitated with certificates and awards.
The Director commended the school administration for effective use of resources and continuous improvement in academic standards. Appreciating the literary work of Adnan Gul, he advised the school—and all institutions—to provide platforms for students to express themselves through writing and to prepare student teams capable of addressing social issues through their expressions. He also praised the successful implementation of the Kitchen Garden Initiative.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Education Officer Pulwama, Shabir Ahmad Khan, highlighted recent achievements of the district and noted with pride that Pulwama secured the first position in the latest PARAKH Test. Principal Ehsan-ul-Haq presented an overview of academic activities and the school’s progress. A documentary film showcasing reconstruction efforts after the 2014 floods was screened in the newly inaugurated Mini Auditorium.Zonal Education officer, Muhammad Amin Padder,teachers and students of various schools also attended the function.
