SRINAGAR, APRIL 16 (STC): National Conference (NC) Senior Leader and Additional General Secretary Dr. Mustafa Kamal, described the differences between Member of Parliament Aga Ruhullah Mehdi and the party as an internal matter and called for immediate reconciliation.
Dr. Kamal said this while speaking to Gulistan News. His remarks come in response to Ruhullah’s claims that the party has cut off communication with him, particularly after his participation in student-led protests against the reservation policy outside Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s residence in December last year.
“Aga Ruhullah and the National Conference are part of the same family. Differences and grievances are natural, but they must be resolved within the party and not aired publicly,” He urged Ruhullah to bring his concerns to the party leadership instead of addressing them in public forums.
He also appealed to NC Vice President and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to play a proactive role in resolving the matter. “Omar Abdullah should step forward and clear any misunderstandings to ensure the party remains united and focused on its goals,” he said.
Kamal acknowledged the MP’s contributions to the party. “Ruhullah has always been an asset to the NC. His commitment to his people and his consistent efforts to highlight public concerns are commendable. I am confident that his grievances can be addressed amicably,” he said.
Kamal, at the same time said, “Our opponents would love to take advantage of any discord within our party. It’s essential that we resolve such issues internally and present a united front.” (STC)
