Eid to be observed on Saturday: Grand Mufti Nasir

SRINAGAR, MARCH 19 (STC):
Eid-ul-Fitr will be observed on Saturday as the crescent was not sighted anywhere in Jammu and Kashmir today, said Grand Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam.
In a statement to media, the Grand Mufti said no credible reports of moon sighting were received by the official moon-sighting committee. “With the crescent not sighted this evening, Edi-Ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Saturday,” the Grand Mufti said.
The committee, which includes Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, confirmed the decision after reviewing inputs from various districts.
