Fierce electoral battle among 17 candidates on cards in Budgam constituency

SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 22 (STC): A fierce electoral battle in the central Kashmir’s Budgam constituency is on cards. 17 candidates have been left in fray, with 3 candidates found ineligible to contest the election.
Candidates from the National Conference (NC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Apni Party, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Awami Itehad Party (AIP), and several independents are in the fray.
According to official reports, a total of 20 candidates had filed their nomination papers for the by-election. “However, forms of three candidates have been rejected during the scrutiny process,” an election official told media outlets.
