Financial assistance for poor girls under marriage scheme enhanced

SRINAGAR, APRIL 03 (STC): The Jammu and Kashmir government has announced enhanced assistance for poor girls of marriagble age under State Marriage Assistance scheme.
“In partial modification to Government Order No.49-JK(SWD) of 2022 dated 22.03.2022, sanction is hereby accorded to the enhancement of financial assistance from Rs.50,000/- to Rs.75,000/- (one time) to poor girls of marriageable age belonging to AAY ration card holder families only under Marriage Assistance Scheme,” the order reads, adding, “In case of poor girls of marriageable age belonging to PHH ration card holder families, the financial assistance shall remain same i.e., Rs.50,000/- (one time).
This order is effective from 01.04.2025 onwards. STC)
