Former J&K Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad to be part of all- party delegation to Europe: Report

SRINAGAR, MAY 17 (STC): Jammu and Kashmir former chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad is likely to join the All-Party delegation being sent by the Government of India to Europe to project the country’s message of zero tolerance against terrorism, reveals a report. Notably, Azad has also served as leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha.
The delegation is being headed by BJP MP Baijayant Panda and is likely to visit United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Germany and Itlay. The delegation would also meet with representatives of European Union.
As per the reports, other members of the delegation include Asaduddin Owaisi (MIM), Nishikant Dubey (BJP), Phangnon Konyak (BJP), Rekha Sharma (BJP), Satnam Singh Sandhu (nominated Rajya Sabha MP) and Ashok Singla (former foreign secretary).
Remarkably, as part of its diplomatic initiative under “Operation Sindoor”, the Government of India is sending seven cross-party delegations to key partner nations, including members of the UN Security Council, to strengthen its stance against cross-border terrorism.
These delegations would be headed by Shashi Tharoor (Congress), Ravi Shankar Prasad (BJP), Sanjay Kumar Jha (JDU), Baijayant Panda (BJP), Kanimozhi Karunanidhi (DMK), Supriya Sule (NCP), and Shrikant Eknath Shinde (Shiv Sena).
