Former J&K Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti criticises Pakistan for recommending Trump for Nobel Peace Prize

SRINAGAR, JUNE 22 (STC): Just hours after the U.S. launched targeted strikes in Iran, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Mehbooba Mufti took a dig at Pakistan for recommending a Nobel Peace Prize for Donald Trump.
“Country that rushed to recommend Donald Trump for a Nobel Peace Prize now finds itself with egg on its face after he attacked Iran,” Mufti said in her post on social media platform X.
The U.S. attack is believed to escalate fears of renewed conflict in the region. The timing of Mufti’s statement appears to underscore what she views as the irony and misjudgment in advocating peace accolades for a leader now associated with aggressive military actions.
Notably, Mufti has been actively posting her comments on the social media about global diplomatic developments, viewing tying them back through the prism of regional geopolitics.
