Former J&K governor Satyapal Malik passes away

NEW DELHI, AUGUST 05 (STC): Former Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Governor, Satyapal Malik, has passed away today at the age of 79 after a prolonged illness at Delhi’s Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital Malik. He was undergoing treatment for kidney-related ailments at the hospital.
Satyapal Malik was admitted to the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital for the past few weeks and today he took his last breath, his personal secretary KS Rana confirmed to media.
Satyapal Malik’s staff informed that the former J&K governor was in the ICU of the Delhi hospital for a long time, getting treatment for various ailments.

In a statement, Delhi’s Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital said former governor Satyapal Malik passed away at 1:10 pm today after a prolonged illness.
incIdentally, Satyapal Malik has passed away on the same date Article 370 was abrogated in Jammu and Kashmir during his tenure as Jammu and Kashmir Governor – August 5, 2019.
In his long political career, he had also the positions of governor of Goa, Bihar, Meghalaya, and Odisha. Besides, he was a member of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. career.
