Global tensions to impact J&K too: CM Omar

STC NEWS DESK
JAMMU, APRIL 02 (STC)
: Even as Jammu and Kashmir currently has adequate stocks of essential supplies and fuel, the impact of global crisis on the Union Territory cannot be denied, said Chief Minister Omar Abdullah while talking to reporters here today. However, he urged people not to panic.
“Global developments remain beyond the control of both Jammu and Kashmir and the country. Any major global disruption would have a cascading impact across India, which would eventually reflect in J&K as well,” CM Omar said.
He, however, reassured that the situation on the ground remains stable for now and said, “Essential supplies and fuel are intact. There is no shortage at present and we have sufficient stock for the next 10 to 15 days.”
He further stated that if the country witnesses a decline in supplies due to any escalation, it will ultimately affect J&K too.
Appealing for calm, the CM said that the Prime Minister has assured that supply chains are being maintained to prevent disruptions and there is mo worry for the couple of weeks.
