Govt announces winter vacations for schools upto Class 8 from December 1

SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 24 (STC): The Jammu and Kashmir Government has announced winter vacations for schools across the Kashmir Valley from December 1 for students up to Class 8.
Schools for Classes 9 to 12 will close in the second week of December, Education Minister Sakina Itoo said.
The minister said the decision has been taken in view of the falling temperatures and harsh weather conditions expected in the coming weeks.
“Winter vacations for lower classes will begin from December 1, while senior classes will continue for another week before shutting down,” she said.
Schools will resume after the winter break in March, subject to weather conditions and academic scheduling.
