High level CPI (M) delegation visiting Kashmir tomorrow

SRINAGAR, JUNE 09 (STC): A high-level delegation of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), led by party General Secretary M.A. Baby, is scheduled to arrive in Srinagar on June 10, 2025, for a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir, reports news agency KNS.
Confirming the visit, CPI(M) leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami has said that the tour underscores the party’s commitment to highlighting the suffering of border residents and engaging with the people of J&K on pressing democratic and socio-economic concerns.
The delegation, as per the reports, will include prominent Members of Parliament—Amra Ram, K. Radhakrishnan, John Brittas, Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharyya, S.U. Venkatesan, and A.A. Rahim—who will be accompanied by senior CPI(M) leader and MLA, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami.
The delegation will travel to Uri sector to meet families affected by the recent cross-border shelling. The visit aims to express solidarity with the victims and assess the on-ground humanitarian situation in the area, which has witnessed escalations in recent weeks.
The reports state that on June 11, the CPI(M) leaders will address a one-day party convention at Tagore Hall in Srinagar, where key political and social issues facing Jammu and Kashmir are expected to be discussed.
