Insufficient snowfall forces authorities to defer Khelo India Winter Games 2025

SRINAGAR, FEBRUARY 17 (STC): Khelo India Winter Games, 5th in series, have been postponed due to insufficient snowfall in the region.
An official from the Youth Services and Sports Department confirmed the postponement, stating that the current snow conditions are not suitable for hosting the event. “A new assessment would be conducted once the snow conditions improve, and a revised update on the event will be announced accordingly,” said the official.

The postponement has raised concerns among athletes and organizers, with many awaiting clarity on the new dates. The Winter Games Association of J&K is expected to announce the revised schedule and updates on athlete screenings once the snow levels are deemed adequate for the games. (STC)
