J&K Govt orders winter break for pre-primary from tomorrow; Primary & Middle from Dec 1, Higher Classes from Dec 11

SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 25 (STC): Jammu and Kashmir Government has announced winter vacations for Pre-primary (Balvatika) classes from November 26, 2025 to February 28, 2026 in Kashmir division and the winter zone(s) of the Jammu Division.
In a notification issued by the School Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir, winter break for classes 1 to 8 will be observed from December 01, 2025 to February 28, 2026. For classes 9 to 12, the vacations will begin from December 11, 2025 to February 22, 2026.
All teaching staff has been directed to remain available for academic activities during the vacation period whenever required.
Moreover, teachers, as per the notification, stand instructed to report back to their respective schools on February 20, 2026 to make necessary arrangements ahead of the reopening of institutions.
