JAMMU, FEBRUARY 09 (STC): Jammu & Kashmir Police’s brave personnel, who sacrificed their today for the nation’s tomorrow, wore their uniform as a duty towards all, and prized national honor above life- must live on in our memories.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha stated this at the inaugural ceremony of the J&K Police’s Martyrs Memorial Hockey Tournament at KK Hakku Hockey Stadium in Jammu. The LG observed that real tributes to bravehearts doesn’t fade but pulses with life and runs through the veins of future generations.
“Our J&K Police martyrs embodied the philosophy of duty and self-sacrifice. Our duty is to pass those values and build strong character of the youth,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
The Lieutenant Governor commended the J&K Police Force for empowering youth through the Civic Action Program.
“J&K Police’s Civic Action Program isn’t just a government scheme—it’s a mindset showing society that lasting peace flows from mutual trust. It proves security strengthens through relationships and community involvement,” he said.
The Lieutenant Governor called upon every section of the society to rise up against drug abuse. “We reaffirm our vow for a drug-free J&K and J&K Police Martyrs Memorial Hockey Tournament declares that commitment,” he said.
He also reiterated the commitment of J&K Police and the UT administration to hold youth’s hands, create brighter opportunities for them, and build a society where talent gets platforms, young energy finds direction, and dreams gain resources.
Meanwhile, the LG directed the J&K Police to strike decisively against terrorism and collaborate with every individual in the society to eradicate the terror network entirely.
“J&K Police’s unbreakable resolve and message to the nation is that – adversity will not crack our spirit. We will cross every barrier to claim new milestones as we advance,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
Nalin Prabhat, DGP J&K; S.J.M Gillani, Special DG (Coordination); Abdul Ghani Mir, Commandant General, Home Guards, Civil Defence & SDRF J&K; Anand Jain, ADGP Armed Police; senior officials of J&K Police and Civil administration; members of Hockey associations, and eminent sports personalities attended the inaugural ceremony.
