Jaundice outbreak in Gotligund Verinag village

Anantnag, January 27 (STC): An outbreak of jaundice has been reported in Gotligund Verinag village of South Kashmir’s Anantnag District on Monday.

Sources told this reporter that at least 27 people, mostly children, have developed jaundice infection, which is due to contaminated water supplied to them, sources said.

A health official wishing anonymity, disclosed that they were in the village today and have collected samples. He confirmed that 27 cases have been found positive in the village, with all patients in stable condition and are under close surveillance.
He added that CMO Anantnag had visited the village today and advised the people to consume boiled water, maintain proper hygiene and not to panic.
