J&K CM announces ex-gratia relief for Chasoti Kishtwar cloudburst victims

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 16 (STC)
: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today announced ex-gratia relief for the victims of the recent cloudburst in Kishtwar.
Official reports state that an amount of ₹2 lakh will be provided from the CM’s Relief Fund for each deceased person, ₹1 lakh for those severely injured, and ₹50,000 for those with minor injuries.
For property losses, the CM announced ₹1 lakh for fully damaged structures, ₹50,000 for severely damaged structures, and ₹25,000 for partially damaged ones.
The Chief Minister said the relief is aimed at providing immediate assistance to the families affected by the tragedy, while rehabilitation and restoration measures will continue under close monitoring.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to extend all possible help to the victims of the disaster. “The officials have been directed to ensure timely disbursal of the announced aid,” he said.
