J&K CM Omar Abdullah among PM’s 10 nominees to strengthen fight against obesity

SRINAGAR, FEBRUARY 24 (STC): Srinagar, Feb 24: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah figures among 10 people nominated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to help strengthen the fight against obesity and spread awareness on reducing edible oil consumption in food.
Soon after his nomination, the J&K Chief Minister expressed happiness over his inclusion.
Notably, after nominating the ten people, PM Modi asked each of them to nominate 10 persons to strengthen the fight against obesity.
“I also request them to nominate 10 people each so that our movement gets bigger,” PM Modi wrote on X.
Notably, the nominees also include chairman of Mahindra group, Anand Mahindra.
Meanwhile, Omar while responding to PM’s nomination, took to X:
“I’m very happy to join the campaign against obesity launched by PM @narendramodi ji. Obesity causes a number of lifestyle related health issues like heart disease, type 2 diabetes, strokes & breathing problems not to mention mental health conditions like anxiety & depression.”
