J&K Police conducts inspection of medical outlets across Srinagar city as part of heightened security scenario

: Jammu and Kashmir Police has today launched extensive drive to conduct inspections of medical shops, chemists, and pharmacies across the Srinagar city. The drive is in line with ongoing efforts to ensure transparency and accountability in health institutions and security protocols within the city, said the police in a statement.
The inspections were aimed at preventing misuse of medical shops for unauthorized storage of illegal or hazardous materials, furthering of unlawful activities and strengthening the internal security within medical institutions, said officials.
During the surprise inspection of the medical outlets, the police officials thoroughly
examined the medicines, medical equipments, cash books etc. and shop owners were reminded to maintain proper safety protocols and mandatory documentation requirements.
The police also verified proper maintenance of stock and sales records. Besides, identity verification procedures for purchasers, compliance with security-related guidelines, validity of licenses and adherence to regulatory norms, were also examined by the police teams.
The police briefed the shop owners on the heightened security scenario and were urged to remain vigilant, promptly report suspicious transactions, and maintain complete transparency in operations.
Police made it clear that
such inspections will be conducted regularly as part of routine vigilance to maintain a safe and secure environment in the Srinagar city.
