J&K to observe largely dry and cold weather till Dec 5: MeT Office

SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 30 (STC): The Meteorological Centre Srinagar in a statement today has said the weather across Jammu and Kashmir is expected to remain largely dry till December 5. There will be no major precipitation forecast for most parts of the region, with generally dry conditions to prevail till December 3, the statement reads.
“December 4 and 5 are likely to remain mostly cloudy, particularly from the evening of December 4, with the possibility of a brief spell of light snowfall at isolated higher reaches,” MeT department said.
The department further stated that from December 6 to December 10, the weather will remain partly to generally cloudy across the Union Territory. Cloudy conditions are also likely to continue on December 11 and 12.
The MeT further forcasts shallow to moderate fog is likely to persist at many places in the Kashmir division and at isolated locations in the Jammu division, particularly during the nighttime and early morning hours.
The cold and dry conditions are expected to continue till December 4, after which a slight improvement in minimum temperatures is likely. A rise of around 1 to 2 degrees Celsius in night temperatures is expected after December 4, it said.
