J&K undergone significant transformational changes over past five to six years, says LG Sinha at inauguration event of new ACB buildings

JAMMU, MARCH 08 (STC): Jammu and Kashmir is at a pivotal juncture, having undergone significant transformational changes over the past five to six years, said Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today after inaugurating the new headquarters of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) at Sidhra in Jammu and a new branch at Awantipora in Pulwama district.
He asserted that the facilities represent the administration’s resolve to ensure transparency and a corruption-free Union Territory.
Addressing the gathering, Sinha said the new buildings are more than just infrastructure. “These two buildings are not merely structures of steel, glass, and concrete; they stand as a bold declaration of transparency in public life and a corruption-free Union Territory,” he said.
The Lieutenant Governor stated that
“We have ushered in transformative changes, rendering the system transparent and dedicating it to public service.
The entire machinery now operates not for the benefit of a select few, but for every individual across the UT,” he said.
Sinha emphasized the changing aspirations of the region, stating that it no longer settles for mediocrity. “Among our people, a firm belief has taken root that a golden future lies ahead. Fulfilling this vision is also the responsibility of the officers and staff at the Anti-Corruption Bureau,” he added.
The Lieutenant Governor also issued a directive to the agency’s officers to ensure the highest standards of professionalism. He called upon the ACB to ensure that each decision, investigation, and prosecution stands firm under the scrutiny of the courts.
Sinha urged the bureau to “harness the authority granted by the nation’s Constitution to expose injustice, eradicate corruption entirely, and earn the trust of the people.”
