: The Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board continues to focus on boosting infrastructure and upgrading management systems across Jammu & Kashmir. The positive response from the public is a major encouragement for the Board, said Chairperson of the Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board, Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, on Monday while inaugurating multiple newly developed facilities within the revered Shrine Complex of Hazrat Aali Ali Balkhi (RA) at Pakherpora.
She said, “Only those who have been selling sentiments and looting Waqf resources for decades are upset with our work. But we don’t care about the negativity of a few. We rely on the support of the majority population who appreciate the transparency and transformation underway.”
Reaffirming the Board’s commitment to development at all Sufi shrines, Dr. Andrabi stressed the importance of preserving their spiritual and cultural essence.
“Our spiritual shrines are our nerve centers and together we have to uphold their sanctity,” she said.
Meanwhile, the newly completed Multipurpose Complex, constructed within the targeted timeframe, consists of commercial outlets on the first storey, a dedicated Ladies Sabaat on the second, and a modern Conference Hall on the third storey.
Notably, Dr. Andrabi was accompanied by Waqf Board Member Dr. Ghulam Nabi Haleem, Tehsildar (Waqf) Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin, Executive Engineer Qazi Mushtaq, Engineer In-charge Ghulam-e-Murtaza, Imam of the shrine Molvi Shakeel-ur-Rehman, and activist-politician Arshad Bhat, among other dignitaries. The event also saw the presence of several local religious and social leaders.
