Justice Hasnain Masoodi Visits Flood-Hit Areas in Pampore Constituency

Pampore, Sep 05 (STC): In the wake of recent floods that have caused widespread damage in several parts of South Kashmir, Justice Hasnain Masoodi, MLA Pampore, on Friday carried out an extensive tour of the affected areas in his constituency. The visit covered Pampore town and adjoining villages including Pahoo, Gandipora, Naman, Meej, Kakapora, and Konibal, which have been among the worst-hit by the deluge.
Justice Masoodi personally interacted with scores of residents who narrated their ordeals and the difficulties they have been facing since the floods struck. He took a close look at the damage to residential houses, agricultural land, and public infrastructure. Farmers in particular voiced concern over the devastation of their standing crops, while local shopkeepers and small traders highlighted losses to their businesses.
Expressing solidarity with the flood-affected families, Justice Masoodi assured them that their concerns would be addressed on priority. He directed officials of the district administration and other departments accompanying him to take immediate and effective steps for relief and rehabilitation.
Stressing the need for urgency, he asked them to ensure restoration of electricity, drinking water, road connectivity, and other essential services without delay.
The MLA further emphasized that relief measures should be carried out in a transparent and equitable manner, so that no affected household is left out. He said special attention must be given to vulnerable families, farmers, and daily wage earners who have been badly impacted.
Justice Masoodi reiterated his commitment to stand by the people in this hour of crisis, assuring that every possible effort will be made at both constituency and government levels to mitigate the hardships caused by the floods. He also appealed to the public to cooperate with officials during the relief operations so that assistance can reach those most in need.
The visit, which lasted several hours, reflected the legislator’s hands-on approach in assessing ground realities and ensuring timely intervention in affected areas of Pampore constituency. (STC)
