KATHUA OPERATION: Two Pakistani terrorists killed, four JKP jawans martyred: DGP

: Two Pakistani terrorists were killed in an ongoing anti-terror operation in Kathua district, while four Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) personnel were martyred, Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat told media.
The encounter erupted in the forest area of Kathua after security forces launched a search operation based on intelligence inputs about militant movement. The operation, involving JKP’s Special Operations Group (SOG), the Army, and CRPF, led to a fierce exchange of gunfire.
DGP Prabhat reaffirmed the police force’s commitment to eradicating terrorism, stating, “We are the only police force that will always be remembered in history and the future for our bravery, commitment, and duty towards the nation.”
He further stated that retrieving the bodies of the martyred personnel was the top priority.
The operation in Kathua continues to neutralize any remaining threats.
Notably. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah have paid rich tributes to the police personnel who lost their lives in an ongoing encounter in Kathua district.
“I bow to the valorous martyrs of J&K Police, who laid down their lives for our motherland. My deepest condolences to their families,” the Lt Governor said in a post on X.
Omar Abdullah also expressed condolences over the loss of the policemen, acknowledging their sacrifice in the line of duty.(STC)
