FEBRUARY 07 (STC): Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) has appealed the Union Home Minister for grant of a special financial assistance for overaged displaced Kashmiri Pandit community Youths.
In a letter addressed to the Home Minister Amit Shah, the KPC President Kundan Kashmiri has stated that “this financial aid is not just a relief measure but a necessity to provide them with some level of stability, security, and dignity. It will enable them to meet their immediate financial responsibilities, support their families, address their health concerns, and live with a sense of security after years of displacement and suffering.”
KPC President states that this issue has been raised multiple times with the Government of Jammu and Kashmir as well as the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. “Even as the Ministry of Home Affairs acknowledged the concern and the matter forwarded to the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, Jammu, for necessary action, no tangible relief has been provided to these overaged displaced Kashmiri Pandits,” said the KPC President.

These individuals, struggling with severe financial insecurity, growing responsibilities, and deteriorating health, are scattered across Jammu, Delhi, Pune, Bangalore, Chandigarh, and other cities, forced to live in rented accommodations with no financial means to support their families. Many of them have unmarried daughters, school-going children, and ailing family members, but they remain deprived of even the most basic financial assistance to lead a life of dignity, mentions the letter addressed to the Home Minister Amit Shah.
