LG Manoj Sinha praises Police for almost wiping out terrorism from J&K

SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 10 (STC): Terrorism is on the verge of being completely eliminated from the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said in his address to athletes at the 10th All India Police Judo Cluster (Men & Women) – 2025.
He said J&K Police has created a “fear-free environment” that has allowed citizens to lead normal lives and contributed to economic revival and social harmony.
“The peace has enabled unparalleled progress and brought greater prosperity in the lives of people,” he said.
The LG praised Jammu and Kashmir Police. He said, “Police is not only maintaining law and order and fighting terrorism but is also playing a key role in the Union Territory’s socio-economic development, He praised the police for ensuring peace and stability, which he said has paved the way for industrial growth and overall progress in Jammu and Kashmir.”
He further added: “J&K Police is not only fighting terrorism, maintaining law and order, and protecting citizens, but it is also a crucial agent of socio-economic development.”
Sinha added that the security situation across the country has improved significantly, with the roots of left-wing extremism dismantled.
“India is witnessing a new era of progress driven by rapid economic growth,” he said.
The Lieutenant Governor lauded the police, army, and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) for their coordinated efforts in dismantling terror networks and preventing cross-border infiltration. He also highlighted the importance of intelligence-based operations and a multifaceted approach to deal with internal security challenges.
In his address, the LG also underlined the power of sports in building character and promoting harmony.
“Sports is the universal language of unity and it promotes inclusivity and mutual respect. Events like the All India Police Judo Cluster serve as a vibrant platform to celebrate unity in diversity and showcase India’s rich cultural and social heritage,” Sinha said.
He urged youth to cultivate compassion, courage, and commitment to national service.
More than 2,000 athletes are participating in the championship, which includes Judo, Wushu, Pencak Silat, Taekwondo, and Karate, hosted by the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Among those present were DGP Nalin Prabhat, Special DG Coordination S.J.M. Gillani, ADGP Armed Anand Jain, senior officials from police and civil administration, sports association representatives, and a large number of youth and sports enthusiasts.
