LG Sinha summons J&K Assembly for budget session from February 2

SRINAGAR, JANUARY 03 (STC): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha exercising powers vested in him under the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019, has summoned the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly to convene its Budget Session from February 2, 2026, at Jammu.
As per the order, the Assembly will meet at the Legislative Assembly Complex, Jammu, on Monday, February 2, 2026, at 10:00 AM.
The Budget Session will commence with the customary address by the Lieutenant Governor to the House on the opening day. A formal notice issued by the Assembly Secretariat stated that the Members of the Legislative Assembly have been called upon to assemble to hear the LG’s address under the provisions of the Reorganisation Act.
The Council of Ministers had earlier recommended the summoning of the Assembly from February 2.
After the discussion on the Lieutenant Governor’s address concludes, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who also holds the Finance portfolio, is expected to present the Union Territory’s second Budget in the first week of February.
