LoP Sunil Sharma reveals ‘private links’ of NC & PDP with BJP leadership in Delhi

SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 24 (STC): Even as National Conference (NC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are opposing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) publicly for its policies, both of them are privately maintaining cordial ties with senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders in New Delhi.
Leader of Opposition (LoP) Sunil Sharma claimed this on Friday while talking to a cross section of media. He said both regional parties have a long history of interactions with BJP stalwarts such as Atal Bihari Vajpayee, L.K. Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, and Narendra Modi, despite criticizing the same party before the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
“It’s double standards — when they meet BJP leaders over lunch in Delhi, it’s perfectly fine; but when an ordinary Kashmiri shows support to BJP, they call it ‘impure,’” Sharma remarked.
He said, “Political rivalry should not breed hate. Honesty and fairness should guide public discourse.”
The senior BJP leader also accused the NC and PDP leadership of shielding their own actions from public accountability.
