NEW DELHI, JULY 29 (STC): Union Home Minister Amit Shah today informed Parliament that all three militants involved in the Pahalgam terror attack were neutralised in a joint operation conducted by the security forces in the outskirts of Srinagar city.
Speaking in the House, the Home Minister said the operation—codenamed Operation Mahadev—was carried out by the Indian Army, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and Jammu and Kashmir Police in coordination.
He said the terrorists had brutally killed innocent tourists in Pahalgam after asking their religion, and the attack took place in front of their family members.
“I strongly condemn this attack and express my heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their loved ones,” Shah said.
The Home Minister also said that following Operation Sindoor, Pakistan retaliated by targeting civilian areas along the border. Several civilians were injured, and places of worship, including gurdwaras and temples, were damaged in the shelling.
He expressed sympathy with those affected in the cross-border attacks.
