MeT forecasts heavy rainfall till July 23 across J&K

SRINAGAR, JULY 16 (STC): The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a weather advisory predicting a prolonged spell of rain across Jammu and Kashmir over the next eight days, warning of potential flash floods, landslides, and shooting stones at vulnerable locations.
The region is expected to witness intermittent rain and thundershowers from July 16 to 23, with varying intensity:
July 18–20: Intermittent light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely at many places, with intense spells at some locations and heavy to very heavy rain at isolated spots across J&K.
The weather from July 21–23: will remain generally cloudy with repeated spells of rain or thundershowers at many places. A few areas may experience intense showers, and isolated regions could see heavy to very heavy rainfall.
The MeT department has cautioned that intense rainfall may lead to flash floods, landslides/mudslides, and shooting stones, particularly in hilly and vulnerable areas.
Residents, travelers, and pilgrims have been advised to remain alert, especially in flood-prone zones and along landslide-prone routes.
