Mirwaiz North Kashmir condemns mass arrests in Kulgam & other areas

SRINAGAR, FEBRUARY 05 (STC): Mirwaiz North Kashmir quoting a report published in Indian Express about the detaining of 500 youth in Kulgam and other adjoining areas has condemned the massive crackdown operation launched by the security forces.
He also condemned the killing of a retired serviceman and called it unfortunate. “Every such killing and causing injury to innocents is condemnable. But to target and detain family members and relatives of those associated with militancy, because of their relationship, is harassment. It vitiates the atmosphere and furthers hostility,” he said.
He said authorities should release these people immediately. (STC)
