SRINAGAR, FEBRUARY 10 (STC): Chairman Mutahida Aima Forum JK and Chairman Muslim Mutahida Mahaaz JK Mirwaiz North Kashmir Moulana Parray Hassan Afzal Firdousi, on Sunday welcomed Mirwaiz Umar Farooq’s recent meetings with Kashmiri Pandits in New Delhi.
He called it a “positive step” towards reconciliation. He called it a “good beginning”.
According to media reports, Mirwaiz Hassan Firdousi reiterated his party’s long-standing stance on the return of Kashmiri Pandits to their ancestral homes. He said, “Kashmir is incomplete without them. We firmly believe that Kashmiri Pandits should return and live alongside their Muslim brethren as they did before 1989, not in isolated settlements.”
He emphasized that every effort must be made to facilitate the safe and dignified return of the Pandit community, saying such steps would foster a greater sense of security and harmony in the Valley.
“Kashmir is a homeland for all Kashmiris and a separate homeland can only be demanded by non-Kashmiris. The dignified return of our Pandit community to their own areas is possible only with the support of the Kashmiri Muslim majority. This is a human issue and ‘Pannan Kashmir Group’ or anyone else should not politicize it,” said Mirwaiz North.
He added: “We support Mirwaiz Sahib’s statement and this is the only way for the migrant Pandit community to return with dignity.” (STC)
