Srinagar, January 27 (STC): National Conference continues to push for statehood without resorting to confrontation, trusting that the central government will fulfill its promises in the near future.
National Conference leader and MLA Hazratbal, Salman Ali Sagar, stated this on Monday while talking to reporters. He said his party does not expect any conflict with the central government over the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir.
“National Conference remains confident that the Government of India, particularly the Prime Minister and Home Minister, understand the importance of fulfilling the mandates necessary for restoring Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood and special status. But yes, restoration of statehood is not a matter of orders but a process,” Salman said.
Salman while emphasising on effective and peaceful resolution to issues said, “We do not foresee any confrontation with the center. We are sure that the mandates given to us by the people will lead to the restoration of statehood. Our issues are primarily local, and we are confident that the central government will take them seriously in due course.”
He dismissed the notion of unnecessary conflicts and stressed that the focus remains on constructive development and addressing local issues.
