JAMMU, MARCH 05 (STC):
Issues regarding healthcare accessibility and the long-pending payments of contractors under the Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) were raised by MLA Hazratbal, Salman Sagar, in the Assembly today.
Highlighting the need for improved ambulance services in Zakoora, Faqir Gujri, and Khimber, Salman Sagar questioned the government regarding the availability of these critical healthcare facilities. In response, the government assured that ambulances would soon be provided to Zakoora and Khimber under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK). Additionally, Faqir Gujri already has an ambulance, and an advanced Critical Care 4×4 ambulance is expected to be deployed in the area soon. To further enhance emergency healthcare, a Critical Care (108) ambulance is stationed at Darbagh Harwan to cater to the medical needs of the region. These developments aim to strengthen emergency medical response and improve healthcare accessibility for the local population.
Addressing another pressing issue, Salman Sagar questioned why a portion of the funds had been withheld despite partial payments being processed as per due procedure. Emphasizing the importance of fair and uniform application of codal formalities, he assured that the matter would be revisited during the cut motion to ensure justice for the affected contractors.
