JAMMU, MARCH 20 (STC): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has begun its preparations for the upcoming by-election in the Nagrota assembly segment. According to a KNS report, quoting sources, the name of Devyani Rana, daughter of the late Devender Singh Rana, has been finalised to contest from this prestigious constituency, which has long been regarded as a stronghold of the Rana family.
However, the BJP is yet to make an official announcement in this regard. The by-election is expected to take place in April.
The seat fell vacant following the demise of BJP stalwart and former legislator Devender Singh Rana.
Reports reveal that the BJP’s election strategy was reportedly discussed in detail during a Core Group meeting held two days ago. The leadership focused on consolidating support and ensuring unity among the cadre ahead of the crucial by-election.
Meanwhile, with election preparations gaining momentum, the BJP is expected to officially announce Devyani’s candidature in the coming days. (STC)
