SRINAGAR, FEBRUARY 11 (STC): Reacting sharply to a Rising Kashmir (RK) report headlined ‘Major political shift likely in J&K’ published in today’s edition of the local newspaper, the National Conference Chief spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq called it “A Barefaced Lie by @RisingKashmir Kashmir” in his X post.
The local newspaper Rising Kashmir (RK) quoting undisclosed sources has reported that “a significant political development is expected in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) as National Conference (NC) president Dr Farooq Abdullah has been in Delhi for the past four days, engaging in discussions with the top leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).”
The RK report further says “there is a strong possibility that NC may move closer to the BJP in the larger interest of J&K.”
The X post of the NC chief spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq reads:
“Dr Farooq Abdullah Sb has not been in Delhi for the past four days meeting BJP leaders. He was in Bombay and only transited briefly through Delhi on his way there. At no point did he meet any BJP leaders.
As for the laughable claim that Dr Sahib was “paving the way” for a meeting between the CM and the Home Minister— the Chief Minister of J&K does not need anyone to arrange meetings with the Home Minister. Such meetings have happened in the past few months and will continue at regular intervals, as is routine in governance.
It’s unfortunate that Rising Kashmir has abandoned journalism for petty propaganda.”
