NC’s parliamentarians to raise demand for J&K’s restoration of statehood and special status in parliament, says Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan

C): National Conference (NC) parliamentarians will raise the demand for restoration of statehood and special status to Jammu and Kashmir during the upcoming Winter Session of Parliament. Besides, they will raise a host of developmental issues confronting the Jammu and Kashmir.
Newly elected Rajya Sabha member Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan stated this today to media. Describing the restoration of statehood and special status as the core agenda of the National Conference, Rajya Sabha member Choudhary Ramzan said, “We will raise these issues. Besides, we will also take up the matter of political prisoners lodged in different jails across the country. We will seek their transfer to jails within Jammu and Kashmir.
Power projects, electricity supply and tourism-related issues vital to the J&K’s economy will also be raised as pressing developmental concerns, he said.
“Works coming under the Jal Shakti Department have also been halted due to paucity of funds. We will seek immediate restoration of these works,” Ramzan added, that stalled projects are causing hardships to people in various regions.
Notably, the winter session of Parliament is scheduled from December 1 to December 19, with 15 working days.
