NEET UG 2025: NTA confirms pen and paper format in a single shift on a single day

STC NEWS MONITORING DESK
JANUARY 17 (STC): According to the National Testing Agency (NTA), the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for Undergraduate courses in 2025 (NEET UG 2025) will be held in a single shift on a single day, in Pen and Paper mode (OMR-based).
The announcement has dispelled the speculation that NEET-UG would become a computer-based test (CBT) in 2025.
Notably, in November 2024, the Union Minister for Education, Dharmendra Pradhan hinted that NEET-UG would become a computer-based test (CBT), shifting from the traditional paper-based format.
However, now, the NTA has confirmed that the NEET UG 2025 exam will be conducted in pen and paper mode.
“As decided by the National Medical Commission(NMC), the NEET-UG shall be conducted in Pen and paper mode (OMR based) in a single day and shift,” a senior National Testing Agency (NTA) official said, reported PTI.
The NTA has not yet announced the exam date. Even the application form has still not been released. (STC)
