Northern Railways to launch daily parcel train from Kashmir to Delhi tomorrow

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 12 (STC)
: Northern Railways is launching a daily time-tabled parcel train from Budgam in Kashmir Valley to Adarsh Nagar station in Delhi from tomorrow (September 13), reports several local media outlets.
According to the reports quoting railways sources, the service will operate with eight parcel vans and one brake van, offering a reliable, efficient and cost-effective transport facility for fruits and other goods from Kashmir to the national capital.
The reports state that for full parcel vans, online booking can be done through fois.indianrail.gov.in/RailSAHAY. Smaller consignments, including those from small farmers, can be booked offline at the Budgam parcel office without prior registration.
Officials have shared the freight charges. From Budgam to Delhi freight charges have been fixed at Rs 2.41 per kg, with an estimated delivery time of 24 hours.
