SRINAGAR, JANUARY 10 (STC): National Security Advisor Ajit Doval has said that young people should learn from history and work towards nation-building based on values, rights and beliefs.
He was speaking today at the opening session of the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue.
The Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2.0 began on Saturday at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, and will continue till January 12. The first edition of the event was held in January 2025 at the same venue.
Stating that India’s independence came after generations faced suffering, destruction and loss, Doval
said India was not always free and that earlier generations faced executions, destruction of villages and damage to civilisation.
He said history presents lessons and warned that ignoring them leads to national loss. He said that the country must focus on building India based on its own values and interests.
“India had a developed civilisation and did not attack other countries or destroy places of worship, but failure to understand security threats in the past led to consequences,” he said.
The NSA urged future generations to remember these lessons and said forgetting history would be harmful for the country.
