JANUARY 17 (STC): The National Testing Agency (NTA) has advised those candidates applying for the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2025 to use Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) ID for registration. The use of APAAR will enhance transparency, efficiency, and security.
The APAAR ID is a key initiative of the Education Ministry under the ‘One Nation, One Student ID’ program. It aligns with the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) and the National Credit Framework (NCrF).
It is a gateway to students’ digital academic journey that helps store their academic accomplishments, facilitating seamless transitions between institutions for the pursuit of further education.
In its official communication, the NTA has urged the candidates to use their APAAR ID as well as Aadhaar-based authentication during the application and examination process.
Remarkably, APAAR promotes accountability and transparency in education by monitoring student progress and organizing academic records. It improves efficiency, eliminates duplication, reduces fraud, and incorporates co-curricular achievements for comprehensive student development.
With its various use cases, APAAR facilitate student mobility; enhance academic flexibility; empowers students to choose the learning paths of their choice; and acknowledges and validates learning achievements
Since no additional certificates are needed other than sharing the APAAR ID, which stores all credentials, there is no risk of losing physical certificates. This makes it beneficial for various use cases, such as school transfers, entrance exams, admissions, job applications, and skilling or upskilling opportunities. (STC)
