SRINAGAR, AUGUST 15 (STC): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today announced a state-wide signature campaign in support of restoring statehood to the Union Territory. While involving himself in the campaign, he has directed his colleagues to reach every household in every Legislative Assembly segment in Jammu and Kashmir to collect signatures and thumb impressions from residents in support of restoration of statehood.
“We will not let a single house or person remain unsigned during next eight weeks,” Omar said, vowing to personally seek endorsements from every corner of J&K. He added that the campaign would ensure participation from even those unable to physically sign, by recording their thumb impressions.
The Chief Minister was addressing the Independence Day gathering at Bakshi Stadium.
