Pariksha Pe Charcha: Exam is not everything, knowledge is power, PM Modi tells students

NEW DELHI, FEBRUARY 10 (STC): The 8th edition of ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ (PPC) event, hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, began today at 11 AM at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. Describing knowledge as power, the Prime Minister while addressing the students told them that getting trapped in books won’t help them to grow.
The PM Modi said, “Students are not robots. We study for our holistic development… Students cannot grow if they are trapped in books… Students need to do their favourite activities, only then they can perform well in exams… One should not live with the mentality that exams are everything… One should gain as much knowledge as possible but not think that exams are everything… One should develop a habit of writing.”
The Prime Minister advised parents not to use their kids as models. Citing example of Sachin Tendulkar, Modi said that some kids are good at something. He said parents to find in which field their kids are good at.
Notably, This year’s PPC stands out with 36 students selected from across various government schools, including Kendriya Vidyalayas, Sainik Schools, Eklavya Model Residential Schools, and Navodaya Vidyalayas. These students will have the chance to interact with PM Modi, as well as learn from a series of motivational talks by experts from diverse fields.
It will feature seven insightful episodes, bringing together renowned personalities from diverse fields to guide students on essential aspects of life and learning.
Deepika Padukone, Sadhguru , Mary Kom, Vikrant Massey and Rujuta Diwekar will join the Prime Minister for discussions on holistic development, managing pressures, and maintaining a healthy mindset during the exams.
Remarkably, the ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ event, offers a unique opportunity for the Prime Minister to engage directly with the nation’s youth, offering tips on exam preparation, stress management, and personal development. As always, the initiative seeks to foster a positive, celebratory attitude towards learning while tackling the anxiety often associated with examinations.(STC)
