PM Modi visiting J&K on June 6 to flag off train connecting Katra to Srinagar

Also going to inaugurate several key infrastructure projects.

NEW DELHI, JUNE 05 (STC): Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to inaugurate several key infrastructure projects in Jammu and Kashmir on June 6. The projects are aimed at improving connectivity and development in the region.
According to official details, PM Modi will visit the Chenab Rail Bridge at 11 AM, followed by the inauguration of the Anji Bridge. He will also flag off two Vande Bharat Express trains connecting Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to Srinagar.
The Chenab Bridge, the world’s highest railway arch bridge at 359 meters above the river, is expected to drastically cut travel time between Katra and Srinagar to around 3 hours. The Anji Bridge, India’s first cable-stayed rail bridge, is another engineering feat in challenging terrain.
At Katra, the Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone and dedicate to the nation multiple projects worth over Rs. 46,000 crore. This includes the 272-km-long Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL), built at a cost of Rs. 43,780 crore, featuring 36 tunnels and 943 bridges.
He will lay the foundation for the widening of the Rafiabad-Kupwara road (NH-701), the Shopian bypass (NH-444), and inaugurate two flyovers at Sangrama and Bemina in Srinagar.
PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone for the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence in Katra, a Rs. 350 crore project and the first medical college in Reasi district, aimed at strengthening healthcare facilities in the area.
Meanwhile, the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha hassaid that Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link Connecting Kashmir to Kanyakumari will usher a new era for Jammu Kashmir Union Territory.
The Lieutenant Governor said that world’s highest Chenab Railway Bridge, a network of 36 tunnels and 943 other bridges for year-round connectivity reflects a rising Kashmir’s dreams and commitment of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in shaping Jammu Kashmir Union Territory’s new chapter.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has created an inclusive and vibrant future for Jammu Kashmir. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Jammu Kashmir has witnessed a new dynamism in every sector and inclusive growth has ensured no section of society is left behind,” the LG said.
